混乱は起業家の活躍の場を作る。これは米国だけでなく、他の経済たい国でも起きている現象です。正直なところ、私たちはこの事態を予測していませんでした。
After all, small-business formation fell during the 2008–09 financial crisis and grew only marginally during the 1990–91 and 2001 recessions. However, there is a remarkable wave of new small enterprises at the moment. There were more than 1.5 million new business applications in the United States alone in the third quarter of 2020, nearly twice the amount for the same time in 2019.
結局のところ、中小企業の設立は2008-09年の金融危機の際には減少し、1990-91年と2001年の不況の際にはわずかな成長にとどまっていました。しかし、現在、新しい小企業の波が出てきています。2020年の第3半期には、米国だけで150万件以上の新規事業の申請があり、これは2019年の同時期の約2倍にあたります。
Many of those businesses are one-person operations that may or may not survive. However, it’s fascinating that the number of “high-propensity-business applications” meaning those most likely to convert into enterprises with payroll, has increased dramatically as well—by more than 50% in comparison to 2019.
申請されたビジネスの多くは個人運営で、生き残るかどうかはわかりません。しかし、面白いところ、個人営業から人を雇う必要がある企業に育つ可能性のあるビジネスは2019年と比較して50％以上も増加しています。
